My return experiance was 5 star, Todd Peres was a gentelman from the very begining, there was a misunderstanding between what I needed the E-bike to do and what it did, the Bike was great for the purpose it was designed.
I would recomend the bike and Todd to any one who wishes quality and great service.
Thank you Todd for great service from start to finish

Kalkhoff Pro Connect Alfine 11

Setup issues: a loose valve stem core, and the setup manual says it comes with 4 keys for the battery lock. I could find only 2. That's it. First impression; this bike is solid. That's hard to do on a commuting bike with all the extras. In the upper gears, the assist gave no surprises; In the lower gears, it felt like the assist was cutting in and out. The assist is sensitive to how much pressure is putting on the pedals AND how fast you're pedaling. In any gear, the assist starts to decrease is about 60 pedal revolutions per minute. Though I usually pedal a higher cadence, it took about a day to get used to it. In traffic with headwinds and hills, the assist reduces my exposure time. That's a great benefit. The Pro Connect Alfine 11 is a great bike; high quality, weather-proof, and the electric assist is refined and effective. I've never spent as much money for a bike, and I've never received as much for my money.

My 2nd Kalkhoff!

I bought my first Kalkhoff eBike, a Tasman 8-Speed Nexus Premium, almost 2 years ago. Great Bike! A stalwart performer, solid construction, a fine commuter bike. I had never riden an Internal Hub bike and learned to love the smooth shift and silent cruise. Also my first experience with the firm-grip stopping power of hydraulic brakes.
Lately, prompted by a compelling, season-end, Greenlight Bikes sale, I began pining for the "sports car" type, high-end components of the 11-speed Alfine IntHub with Hydraulic Disc brakes, et al. WOW!
Three more gears On Top and a much higher performance curve with e-assist, providing a wonderful top-end cruise. Just the up-scale boost I was looking for.
Although I haven't had my shinny new Pro Connect long, I'm sure I'll be frequently riding through the dry days of winter! Quick - Tight - Responsive, like a fine sports car for this "young" 60-something, ebike enthusiast. tomc

I can't say enough good things about this company or their products. Todd the manager is very helpful, and he has a very cool dog there to pet, and Geoff the owner went well beyond the ordinary to make sure I got exactly the bike to suit my needs.
The bike is awesome! I am a very large fellow who has been bike commuting for the past six years. This bike has made hill climbing much more enjoyable and I now take much longer trips. Though I would bike to and from work I would use a company van to run errands during the day. Now I do those on the Kahlkaff, so it is better envirnmentally as well as personally.
The Alfine 11 speed internal hub gives a wide range and large spread of gears, and the 300 watt motor has plenty of power to get me up the steepest hill. I can't wait to take it on some long trips this summer!
