The shop really encouraged test riding the bikes. So, I rode a couple on some 15 mile hill rides. Nice to find an electric bike that handled like a bike. I liked the 300w motor on the Sport Dual Drive for the hills; then upgraded the battery from 10ah to 12ah. The SRAM Dual Drive is great!. I can get about 35 miles with an elevation gain of 1500 feet. The purchase was very smooth. The bikes are on display but the sales folks could do a better job explaining to the potential buyer each model target rider.

I have really enjoyed my Pro Connect Sport Dual Drive. It has performed better than expected and allowed me to go up hills that previously were out of my league. In 2 months of riding for exercise I've logged over 500KM. The service and attention from the guys at Kalkhoff Bikes Portland has been amazing-they have gone way beyond the call of duty several times. You can't go wrong here!

My dual drive Pro-Connect was delivered and the bike under warranty was picked up later the same day without a hitch thanks to the e-mailed return label. Thanks for the great Kalkhoff customer policy. I already have made my daily 50 mile commute 3X this past week and the dual drive is a marvel. The only thing I miss from my older bike is the ergo-flat handle bars where i could fold my arms and escape the winds on the NYC Hudson bike path , but I am giving the guys in spandex a run, I commute in dress pants with hardly a sweat!
