To get the most distance out of an ebike you will either need a big battery or an efficient motor. If the motor is near the crank vs. in the hub of the wheel, you will have the advantage of changing gears. Kalkhoff has a great battery along with a solid design with the motor placed near the crank. The most important thing I can say about my bike is I am riding it, even in the rain. I am getting the distance out of it that I wanted and I am feeling much better physically and I am enjoying seeing my city. The Tasman is a very solid bike with a lot of technology. It is I think the heaviest of all the Kalkhoff ebikes but that is because of all the extra features. The Pro Connect will probably work best for most people as it is lighter but not as well equipped. I chose the Kalkhoff bike because I thought it would last longer,2year warranty and give me the most distance for my needs. My commute is Tualatin, OR to downtown Portland with the electric assist on about 75% of the trip.
